Obtaining certification as a winegrower is about choosing good practices and showcasing the efforts made to protect the environment. It is about participating in a collective progress initiative that benefits local inhabitants. That is why, since 2018, the sector has promoted an ambitious environmental certification strategy, Cognac Environmental Certification (CEC), which it has recently updated to focus on meeting current environmental challenges. This strategy is now designed to work more closely with and be open to all recognised environmental certifications and labels, including High Environmental Value (HEV) and Organic Agriculture (AB, organic).<\/span><\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n

5 OBJECTIVES AND 24 REQUIREMENTS TO PROTECT OUR VINEYARDS AND THE ENVIRONMENT
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Cognac Environmental Certification aims to evaluate winegrowing practices based on five key environmental objectives: promoting diversity, ensuring water, air and soil quality, encouraging limited chemical spraying, sustainably managing soil life, and aiming for carbon-sober operations. To obtain Cognac Environmental certification, Cognac producers must meet 24 requirements and obtain at least two \u201cbonus\u201d points allowing them to go further in their practices. Whatever their choice, Cognac producers are supported by a community of experts which provide advice both on the administrative and technical aspects.
